A minority woman-owned accounting firm called Perennial Financials LLC focused on providing fundamental business education to minority BIPOC owned businesses, especially those disproportionately affected by lack of educational resources. It is expected that by providing these resources to minority business owners, it will help reduce the number of small businesses that fail due to lack of business financial management and have a direct positive effect on more successful minority owned businesses. So, they will be in a financial position to create jobs in their communities.
We have our Basic Business Books program teaching minority BIPOC business owners and high school students the accounting fundamentals every entrepreneur should be practicing in their business. About 54% of Generation Z indicated they wanted to start their own company (Schroeder, Forbes, 2020). It is our goal to give the next generation the accounting knowledge needed to create a solid business foundation.
Our program will teach them:
· How to read a Balance Sheet and why it is important to your business.
· How to read a Profit & Loss Statement and why it is important to your business.
· What are KPIs and how to identify them in your business.
· How to read a Cash Flow Statement and why it is important to your business operation.
· Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Annually bookkeeping and accounting tasks you should be completing in your business to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial reports.
Perennial Financial LLC will do their part to help reduce the number of minority BIPOC owned businesses that fail due to lack of financial management, and educate the next generation on accounting concepts needed for them to have a solid business foundation.
